Cathay Pacific reopens Beijing Capital Airport lounge as refurbishment ends

On August 16, Cathay Pacific reopened its lounge at T3E at Beijing Capital International Airport. It has been refurbished exactly one year before its August 1, 2024 closure.

The renovated lounge has a total area of 843 square feet and a total of 238 seats. The T3E terminal at PEK itself is irregularly laid out, and it took a whole year to refurbish, so I'm sure the designers and construction team put a lot of effort into it.

As the only two Cathay Pacific lounges in mainland China (excluding the Shekou Port Lounge), the décor still continues the usual dark red color of the Cathay Pacific lounges. From the pictures, you can also feel Cathay's control over the overall atmosphere and details, and the importance Cathay attaches to the important domestic aviation hubs.

This opening remains the Business Class lounge, allowing access to Cathay Silver and above, oneworld Sapphire and above, and oneworld carrier Business Class and First Class customers.

The meal still continues Cathay's Hong Kong-style dim sum such as steamed dumplings and shrimp dumplings, and the dan dan noodles and wontons should also be in the title. Another surprise is the inclusion of Beijing's signature fried noodles.

The Cathay Pacific lounge in Pudong, Shanghai is already being honored as the best lounge in the country, and the Beijing lounge has been renovated to surpass the Cathay Pacific lounge in Shanghai. I wonder if Air China, as the majority shareholder, will be under pressure?

The only regret might be that there is no shower provided.
